So, my guild went kablooey this week. I'm posting here mostly just looking for sympathy and stories from other members on how they handled this sort of thing, but I suppose if someone had a guild/server to recommend that would suit my boyfriend and I, they'd be welcome.

( the story: RIP my awesome guild, or, a tale of elitist misogynistic douchebaggery. Warning: will be long )

TL;DR version: awesome guild is killed by an elitist misogynistic douchebag with a completely undeserved ego the size of Texas. I'm one of the few denied an invite to the replacement guild, due to me being a woman who doesn't put up with BS and likes the fact that the old guild didn't require hours of commitment and min-maxing. Changes screw over my bf too. Crap server gives us very little options.

So! Maybe we can find a server/guild that suits our needs; here's the pertinent details:

Me: Inaara, healy type priest (holy/disc, but I prefer to raid disc) is my main, but I'm a total altaholic with 7 other 80s. Would need a raid schedule that is not too heavy - 3 nights a week max, no Monday nights, and needs to be finished no later than 10pm (this is an absolute must). Friendly environment, no asshattery/elitism, etc. I can start raiding anytime after 4pm PST.

My bf: Dalomere, prot/ret pally. He works 3-11 M-F, and would love to find a guild that starts raids around midnight and going for 3ish hours or so. He's got experience with everything up to the first wing of ICC10, due to pugging almost everything.

We want to stay horde, and the only server we can't move to is Lightbringer (all my alliance toons are there and I have no room for my hordies). No PVP servers either, please... my blood pressure can't handle it. :) Yes, we have vastly different schedules, we're not expecting to find a guild to meet both our needs, but if you meet the needs of one of us and know there are guilds on your server that can meet the other, we're not adamant on staying in the same guild as long as we're on the same server.

So, any recommendations? :)

Also, there isn't enough people left to form a new guild capable of even running 10-mans, nor anyone who has the time/energy/knowledge to devote to running it either. Some people took off immediately or joined the #3 guild on the server (who I won't consider an option).

I'm taking the advice of some friends and using this as an opportunity to improve on what I had. I'm fresh out of ideas, though, so I find myself coming to your wonderful ladies (and gents) for inspiration.

Post your UI! Screenshots, detailed explanations, link to a compilation you really like, whatever! Let me (and everyone else) see those user interfaces!

I have been on an art kick lately. Might as well put that degree to use! A little back story, I used to do wonderfully detailed work until I developed carpal tunnel syndrome. Now I can't draw for more than an hour without having shooting pains in my wrist. So, in order to not spend 6 months or more on one piece, I've had to adapt to a more simplified style. There's a lot more on the way--I don't know how I ended up with all Alliance this time when I play Horde. :P Hope y'all enjoy!

hey ladies,

So I know that there have been a lot of threads on Disc v. Holy healing for priests.

And I imagine this is a little spazzing because I just got my first vote-kick (I know they happen, but usually not to me!) and am fussing about what I've done wrong.

Anyway, I'm not level 80 yet--just 69. I recently abandoned my holy spec for disc after trying a level 80 disc healer and loving how effortless raid healing went.

My disc healing hasn't been nearly as effortless. I can't shield fast enough to keep the tank from dying. I penance like it's going out of style.

What am I doing wrong? Is Disc just not a good spec before 80? Should I get some better gear? Should I go back to holy and redo disc at 80?

Here's my armory if you have any other suggestions. I'd like to not suck.

1. My Warrior (and first toon <3), Arbarilann, is having a profession crisis. I had her as Mining/BS, then Mining/Herb, now BS/Eng because my DK can mine for her. The problem is, I'm still not sure that BS/Eng fit. What professions do you have for a Warrior? I had thought mining because it builds Stam, but I don't know. Any advice would be amazing.

2. My sexy Draenei Hunter, Nieniin. I have the feeling she has too much HP and not enough Mana, but I'm not sure. I like how I specced her (BM FTW \o/) and how my rotation is, it's just her gear/HP and Mana I'm unsure about. I'm trying my hardest to play her right. I will not be a Huntard, damnit. >:( Again, any advice would be loved.

3. Finally, my UI. I asked this awhile ago and got some good replies. I fiddled around, but it still feels cluttered. I like X-Perl, but I feel it takes up too much room on screen. I'd like to use Pitbull, but every time I try to use it, I get confused and frustrated and say fuck it. Is there any tutorial for it, like there is for Grid/Healbot? I like Shadow Unit Frames too, but I can't remember why I don't use it. /o\ Anyway, here's 2 screenshots of my UI. One on my Hunter and one on my DK.

I saw you came into H-AN in as holy and switched specs. While you were sitting down to drink, I noticed you had 24k in the health pool. Considering my healadin has that raid buffed, I was a bit nervous. I *almost* offered to switch places with you because I can tank that instance in my sleep, but it's H-AN, I'm in ICC gear, and you're def capped, so I decided to be adventurous for a change.

I'm really glad I did. It was a fast run, no wipes, and while I had to break out a couple of things from my bag tricks (why, on why, did the shaman not put down a poison cleansing totem? *sad panda*), it wasn't an "Oh gods WHY!?" sort of run. I actually had a lot of fun!

Congrats on your achieve and the Essence of Gossamer. May the RNG gods favor you in all your tanking endeavors.

I hate to generalize but every person I've pugged with from your server has been a douche nozzle.  Between Hikosejiro, the Japa-cheese ninjaing warrior who loved to face pull and roll need on everything even if his warrior ass couldn't use it, and all the rest of the DPS fail I've had lately, I wish my ignore list could include your whole fucking server.

And apologies to any decent players on that server.  I'm sure you exist, I just haven't seen it yet.
